The promo video for Jody Wisternoff’s debut solo artist album – “Trails We Blaze” – has just been uploaded to YouTube – watch it HERE. With visuals inspired by the album artwork, the video includes this week’s single “How You Make Me Smile” (feat. Pete Josef), as well as “95″, “Just One More” (feat. Pete Josef), and “Red Stripes”.  

“Trails We Blaze” will be available to buy from the 28 May 2012, but you can preorder your copy now from iTunes HERE, or HERE if you are in the USA and Canada, including an exclusive DJ mix of the album’s tracks from Jody himself. You can also get your hands on a limited edition signed CD copy from Anjunastore HERE.

Blending elements of house, nu disco, progressive, techno and bass, the upbeat “Trails We Blaze” condenses Jody Wisternoff’s personal journey through music into 12 diverse electronic grooves; referencing his classic and contemporary musical loves.

Representing Jody’s modern take on Balearic grooves, tracks like the “How You Make Me Smile” (feat. Pete Josef) and the nu-disco influenced “Just One More” are both soulful and sophisticated; perfect for balmy summer nights.

The album isn’t without its darker shades, though. Harking back to his years lost in Bristol bass bins, the hypnotic techno groover “95″ and the hip-hop indebted “Red Stripes” both reference Jody’s love of vintage jungle, while reworks of the Pete Tong-endorsed “Starstrings’ and the Beatport number 1 “Cold Drink, Hot Girl” update two of his most classic solo tracks.

A journey that lives up to its title, “Trails We Blaze” is as clean as a mid summer sky, but still captures the complex beauty and deep textures of little fluffy clouds.

Above & Beyond TV is coming to LA on 17, 18 and 19 May. With a twist.

We want YOU to shoot our next A&BTV clip.

So if you’re coming to The Shrine we’d like you to film your own unique Group Therapy experience on the day or night and share it with us.

How to take part:

You can also share your video with us on our Facebook Wall or our Twitter Page using the #GroupTherapyLA tag.

You can shoot footage on a camera or your mobile device.
Clips can be any length but under 90 seconds would be preferable.

We want clips that capture the excitement of the build up to the gig as well as the gig itself. For example:

- How will you and your friends get ready for the gig?
- What will you listen to in the car on the way?
- The moment it all goes off.
- Where’s the after party at?

The most creative and exciting clips will be included in the next episode of Above & Beyond TV and the best submission will receive an Above & Beyond goodie bag including signed Anjuna CDs and limited edition LA T-shirt.

Above & Beyond’s breakthrough producers of 2011, Bruce Karlsson & Nick Sember aka Norin & Rad have just delivered the latest edition of the Data Transmission podcast.
